My company is currently working on a government contract to modernize the electronic health record for the Indian Health Services (IHS). Because American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN) are part of their own sovereign nations (tribes are considered sovereign nations), they cooperate with the US government as nations, governed by nation-to-nation treaties. Sensitivity to AI/AN culture is a crucial part of this project. To consider this, I led my team to create a learner profile and a persona. We are still in the process of collaborating with the client, but attached is what we have compiled so far.
I did not personally compile the information in the attached document, but as a leader on the training team and the eLearning team lead, I directed two members of my team (Monica and Heather) and supported their work. I provided the guidance, direction, leadership, and template. I directed them toward resources, connected them with the right SMEs to collaborate with, and socialized the learner profile with the client.
