PLO 2 - eLearning Example

Below is a video I created for 28K participants nationwide. This was a major project that contributed to my company winning the ATD 2025 Best Award. The eLearning below aligns to PLO 2: Collaborate with others in an educational technology area (experts, peers, stakeholders, etc.) to design and implement a project.

I created this cooking video when I worked at GEHA. GEHA is a health insurance company for veterans, government employees, and those in active duty military. This was a webinar that was broadcast to about 28,000 participants in the diabetic population. The goal of the webinar was to provide healthy cooking demonstrations to improve lifestyle habits for those living with diabetes.

For this project, I collaborated with many cross-functional teams and project managers, SMEs, nutritionists, dietitians, marketing teams, and stakeholders to make this possible. I did the bulk of the work on this project and coordinated across the teams as needed. I collaborated with the dietitians and SMEs as I wrote the script and developed the storyboard for the selected recipe. I worked with the on-screen talent (our former sous chef turned dietitian) to coach her on how to best deliver the lines and frame herself within the shot. I set up the cameras and lighting in our venue. I did all the filming, video, and sound editing. I compiled the video and created graphics for the PowerPoint slides during the presentation portion of the webinar. I then further compiled the video and presentation (along with voiceover) into one complete video and worked with our marketing team to upload it to the On24 platform. I created a cookbook (collaborating with the nutrition team on recipe selection) to go along with the webinar and worked with marketing to get direction on the graphics I created for the giveaways. I also took photos during the shoot that were used in the recipe book, printed mailers created by the marketing team, and giveaway graphics.

This was the second video production in this series. The first video was successful, but our on-screen talent was not as engaging as we had hoped. Taking lessons learned from that experience and bringing it into this one supported the overwhelming success of this project.
